Consider how much you expect to pay for HVAC maintenance, then see if your current costs meet those expectations. For example, if you want to pay a flat rate every month for maintenance, but your monthly costs keep fluctuating, it’s time to rethink your current HVAC service contract.
Services Your Contract Covers
Look at your HVAC service contract and make sure it covers what it claims to cover. You may have one of three main types of HVAC service contracts:
- Preventative Maintenance: The least expensive type, this contract only covers annual maintenance visits.
- Full Labor: This contract covers all labor involved in your HVAC maintenance and repairs. The time it takes to complete a project determines this contract’s prices. The costs of HVAC system parts are not included.
